+++ Inaugural thyssenkrupp TOWERRUN sold out after just two weeks +++ 100 extra starting places released

The initial announcement that the thyssenkrupp TOWERRUN would take place on 15 September triggered great excitement in the stair-running world. The initial batch of entries sold out in just two weeks. Christian Dillschnitter, Project Manager for Cologne-based organisers pulsschalg, was delighted with the high number of registrations. "We were convinced that our concept would work, but we didn't think we would get off to this kind of start with the first event. That's why we have decided, along with our partners thyssenkrupp Elevator AG, to release another 100 extra starting places," he explains.

Anyone who didn't manage to secure an entry first time round will get another chance to book their place on the start line.

We will be releasing another 100 bonus entries at 8 pm (Central European Time) on 12 August.

With its 1,390 steps, the thyssenkrupp TOWERRUN is the highest stair run in western Europe, leading to Germany's highest viewing platform at 232 metres (761ft) - and a stunning view over the Black Forest. thyssenkrupp Elevator uses the Rottweil test tower, opened in 2017, to develop the world's first ropeless elevator and to test high-speed elevators for use in skyscrapers. The engineers can even make the building sway to simulate realistic wind conditions.

By the way, you don't actually have to take part to experience the tower for yourself. If you fancy a peek behind the scenes and would like to help out at the event, you can contact the organisers to register as a volunteer. We are looking for assistants to help run the area around the Organisers' Office, the cloakroom and the staircase, and to provide refreshments. To volunteer, send an e-mail to team@ps-pulsschlag.de.
