Signalling climate protection: TK Elevator test tower switches off lights
The city of Rottweil and the TK Elevator test tower are once again taking part in this year's Earth Hour organised by the WWF. On 27 March 2021, people, cities and companies around the world will switch off the lights for 60 minutes at 8.30 p.m. for Earth Hour 2021. TK Elevator was recently recognised for its sustainability strategy by the globally active non-profit organisation CDP. The CDP has placed TK Elevator on its prestigious 'A List'.
At TK Elevator, the commitment to reducing the ecological footprint of products, processes and operations is firmly anchored in the corporate culture. "Yes, we are taking part in Earth Hour 2021," confirms Test Tower Manager Beate Höhnle. As with other Rottweiler towers, the night-time lighting at the lift test tower will also be switched off to set an example for climate protection.
Earth Hour is a global campaign. According to the WWF, thousands of cities and, above all, millions of people around the world are taking part in Earth Hour by switching off the lights in their own homes, government buildings, sights and shops for one hour at 8.30 pm local time. Even in times of lockdown and corona, we can speak out in favour of more climate protection efforts within our own four walls, says the WWF on its website. Are you joining in too?
