Visiting the test tower in Rottweil

A great experience awaits you!

The record-breaking tower was built by TK Elevator in Rottweil, Baden-Württemberg’s oldest town. On this page, we have compiled key information for planning your visit to Germany’s highest observation platform.

Important information before buying a ticket

Please plan extra time due to the large number of visitors.

Due to the continued popularity of the test tower, it is not possible to avoid long waits. Of course, we are constantly striving to optimize the flow of visitors. One line for all visitors has proven to be the most practical option. In particular, this also allows larger groups to be admitted to the tower together or one after the other. Regardless of whether you plan to purchase tickets at the box office or have already purchased them online, please get in line.

Part of the waiting area is covered to protect visitors from the sun. If it is sunny outside, remember to wear plenty of sunscreen and hydrate before your visit.

There is a vending machine in the visitors’ foyer where you can purchase beverages, as well as find places where you can sit.

Online tickets cannot be exchanged.

Exchanges and refunds of tickets purchased online are not possible.

When you order tickets online, you can choose between day passes (for a particular day) and gift certificates.

Advance reservations and orders are not possible. However, tickets are always available at the box office.

Check the settings of your spam filter before ordering.

Before you can place your order, please register in our online shop . After we have received your payment, you will be sent an e-mail with the files and your tickets. Check your spam filter settings to ensure you receive your tickets: Make sure your e-mail account has a spam folder where you can find the e-mail if it does not land in your inbox. Allow unknown senders and attachments in PDF format as well. The confirmation e-mail is also your invoice.

Thanks to the registration function, you will never lose a ticket from now on. You will find all the tickets you purchased from us saved in your account , as long as they have not been redeemed or they have not expired. If you encounter any problems, please contact the test tower shop team using the contact form on the ticket shop website .

Bulky, hazardous, and loud items must be left at the coat check.

Prohibited items, bringing pets, consumption of food and beverages:

Suitcases, backpacks, and handbags (larger than 25 cm x 15 cm x 20 cm (LxWxH)), umbrellas, baby strollers, tripods, and noise-producing items (such as musical instruments, sound blasters, radios, vuvuzelas) are not permitted on the observation platform.

These can be left free of charge at the coat check in the visitors’ lobby, if space is available.

Cell phones are to be set to silent mode.

It is forbidden to carry weapons and other dangerous objects anywhere on the test tower site.

Bringing and operating drones and other remote-controlled devices is also prohibited within the test tower site.

Pets are not permitted on the test tower site.

The consumption of food and beverages brought from outside by visitors is not permitted on the observation platform.

For more details, please scroll down to read the rules of conduct for the test tower. Thank you.

Information for groups

Large groups are welcome at the test tower. The test tower is approved for a maximum of 199 people. During the COVID-19 pandemic, fewer people have been admitted due to social-distancing rules. Please keep in mind that you are not the only one visiting the site.

In some cases, this may mean that you have to wait in line in order to visit the observation platform. This will depend on the number of visitors. Approx. 15 people are allowed in the elevator at any one time. Restrictions have been placed on this number during the COVID-19 pandemic. With large groups, it will take a longer amount of time for everybody to reach the observation platform.

You can buy tickets online at https://shop.testturm.de. A maximum of 30 tickets can be purchased per order. You can of course also place multiple orders. Please check availability online.

Tickets can also be purchased for groups at the box office. If you purchase ticket on-site, there is a discount of €1 per adult. There are generally enough tickets available for groups. However, please plan to wait. Reservations at the box office are unfortunately not possible.

If you are a tour operator arriving by bus, please go to the ticket office. Thank you very much.
